Thursday's Things: Whirley Pop!ping

Wabash Valley Farms: The Original Whirley Pop

Who doesn't love Popcorn? Unfortunately, it's hard to find good popcorn (or make it, for that matter) when you don't use a microwave.

That's right. I do not use a microwave. But that's a whole other post.

Monsoon loves popcorn like any kid, so instead of going broke buying him bags of it for them to pop for him, my mom got me a Whirley Pop popcorn maker for Christmas. Perfect popcorn in an easy 3 minutes, minus the smell of burnt bag.

And for those of you who can't read are skinny bit.. too fat to care don't count calories, Wabash Valley Farms also makes REAL THEATER POPCORN all-in-one packets; just cut, pour and pop! And it really tastes just like what you get at the movies... only not stale. Really.

Anyone who has THINGS to share is welcome to participate in Thursday's Things, just link up below!

Oh... popcorn. My best friend claims to not be too hot on it, but she says she got sick on theater corn once, so ever since it has not been so desirable. Which stinks, because we used to have popcorn every weekend.

And, you know, we have a microwave, but only, ironically enough, use it for the odd times that we have...popcorn.

OMG! My aunt gave us a huge movie theater poppcorn maker for xmas and we don't know where to put it or how to even make popcorn in it. Who makes popcorn the old fashioned way nowadays?

I love popcorn, and I love this idea, but honestly I have SO MANY little kitchen appliances I don't know where I'd put it. Guess I'd better stick to the microwave or the old frying pan method!

Morgan - all that extra extra butter at the theater is enough to make anyone sick!

Joan - You mean like the big glass box on legs?! Where on Earth would you put it?

Mrs. Jelly Belly - We used to do the frying pan method when I was a kid - all that shaking until my eyes felt like were gonna fall out! Ahh, that was fun.

We have one of those and I LOVE IT! It stays on the stove aroud Christmas time as I'm constantly popping some up for caramel corn. Yummm!
Stopping by through SITS. Glad I'm not the only one who forgets if I roll called or not.

We used to make the popcorn in the pan, shaking it all up too when I was young. I keep thinking I'd love to get something like this for real popcorn, but I never remember it when I have spare cash for splurges! Almost like I never remember to think of a thing for your Thursday's Things until I see yours and then I can't for the life of me come up with anything.

:)

Next week maybe! I'll start thinking now.

I have no thing to share. Except I own this- and it's beyond rockstar. Making popcorn takes no longer than in the microwave, just a little more participation, and the short people can turn the crank, thankyouverymuch. Soooo much better!

And you know what? Buffalo or Taco Pop'rs are the BEST on that homemade popcorn! Try 'em out and let me know...although I think Monsoon might prefer the Butter flavor.

I have not seen or heard of this. We used to use a hot air popper growing up. I love popcorn, and would probably really like something like this. I'm going to look into it.
THANKS FOR THE TIP!
Have a great day.

I've heard that Whirley Pop popcorn is pretty good stuff but it's tough to find that popper up around this way...
