Sanity or Patience: choose one.

Do you ever have one of those moments where you think, "HA! I am sane!" Then you step in dog poo with your bare feet and remember it was your idea to get the puppy...?

Expectations, revisited. (and you all are awesome!)

Thank you so much for all the beautiful gift ideas for my sweet nephew. I loved reading all of them. You were all so thoughtful and it was a huge help.

Since I am crunched for time, and we're not made of money (yeah, I should have reminded myself of that one when Prissy turned one. DOH!), I decided on something simple and quick.

Not enough time to make something by hand (not that I make stuff - I'm not crafty - but I can put pictures and words together and stuff like that).

Whilst revisiting ToysRUs this evening, (left my license there yesterday when I made a return - I have no brain) I discovered something pretty cool. They have a section of books that are signed by the author. Picture books like "Guess How Much I Love You" that are autographed (real autographs - with a marker, not a copy - each is unique).

I love this. I would expect to pay a bit more for such items, but these are about the same price as the regular hardcover picture books at ToysRUs (which are admittedly a few more dollars than most places anyway).

For the new one-year-old, I chose a beautifully illustrated "Puff The Magic Dragon" complete with CD of children's songs and an autograph by Peter. Of Peter, Paul & Mary. Cool, huh?

Thank you all so much for your help - I felt so much less stressed after reading all your helpful comments.

Now... I should probably get back to returning comments from my SITS Day almost a week ago. I'm so behind.

That is great! My husband and his brothers completely ruined the "magic" of Puff for me, but I'll probably sing it to my kids, anyhow! ;) You know, some day in the next ten years when I've got some.
