In lieu of the week's events, I thought I'd post two symbols of American history, of which I happen to have original photos, much thanks to my talented brother who probably regrets letting me copy his New York album.

I love these pictures because they're beautiful and the magic of the two places just radiates from them. I hope you can enjoy them as much as I have. Again, thanks to my brother A for allowing me to keep them... and reprint them.. and frame them.. give them out as gifts.. hang them on my walls.. uh, and now post them on my blog. Oh, and brother A, if you wouldn't mind to maybe do a little more travelling in the year to come, I would really appreciate photos of more cool places.

We've seen alot of history this week.
I visited Ellis island, now thats history. I wish people still pledged allegiance when they came over like they did back then.

And small world, my dad worked on both those restoration projects many moons ago. I have the north elevation of Ellis Island sitting on the floor in front of me, waiting to go over the mantel (inside of house looks like outside of house).
I am so glad you all stopped by today! Can't wait to tell my brother he is (well, yeah, and America, too) responsible for my most popular post to date! I'll have to snag more of his photos - I'm sure he won't mind...

My grandfather sat on Ellis Island for awhile when he was two years old. We visited Ellis Island about eighty years after he was there and I think it incredible. He kept insisting it was no big deal because that is what everybody did back then.
