I yove you, Mommy.
I'm a yucky boy, Mommy.
I don't yike green beans, Mommy.
Will you pway wif me, Mommy?
I never pushed Monsoon to say his L's. I knew, one day, he'd make the sound. There was no need to point out that he said some words differently. No need to embarrass him. He'd get it eventually. Quite frankly, I found his version endearing. It was like the last stone keeping him a clunky, tiny child.
Today, he said "I llla-la-love you, Mommy." And I wanted to go back to yesterday. Yesterday he yoved me. Yesterday he was yucky. Today... he's lucky. Tomorrow, he might like it if I play wif him.
It's strange the things we hold onto as parents. Those were things that made me smile, from the inside out, every time I heard them. His non-L's. I think it's also one more thing we failed to capture on film, and now it's too late. It's gone forever, just like high chairs and strollers, sippy cups and baby beds. Much like my sanity, apparently, since I can't seem to stop feeling melancholy lately.

I know what you mean... what a sweet little boy.
There's something sad about them breaking out of babyhood. But I suppose we can't keep them wittle for ever!
Just wait until the day he calls you "Mom". Your heart will break into a thousand pieces. I still want to be Mommy, not Mom.
Awwww, so bittersweet!
I still wuv you!
I won't tell you to cheer up, or that you have so many other tangible chroniclings (is that a word?) of Monsoon's babyhood, or that this is a good reason to begin hardcore filming of things. You know all that. I will just send you hugs.
It sucks! :( I miss the days my son wanted to see the Comote Retrol and eat apple pie-a-ma-lode! *sigh*
While words aren't quite something you can catch on film...I'm sure you'll have those memories forever!

Awww, what a big little guy. I love how he figured it out on his own, and kudos to you for not trying to make him rush it. I think I ought to get Little Miss on video with some of the cute ways she says things...
My grandson calls me "Grandma Windy" and I wuv it.
