I had so many eloquent notes in my head to put here today, but somehow they've all gotten lost. I probably ate them along with that package of cookie dough for breakfast this morning. So here we are... in awkward silence. Which is kind of ironic.
As I read through some of my posts, trying to decide which ones to feature, I noticed something. I'm awkward. Everywhere I looked, I just kept finding awkwardness.
I was an incredibly awkward child - and unbelievably embarrassed in THIS particular moment.
I am still awkward as an adult - and rather clumsy HERE.
I seem to have passed on this awkwardness to my 4 year old son, Monsoon. He asks some very awkward questions, to which I answer THERE.
Despite all these awkward moments, I'm feeling pretty lucky today. It's Friday the 13th, after all. I also want to send out a big thanks to the SITS girls for all the work they do to promote sisterhood among women. They are amazing.

Hmmm, awkward or clumsy I'm not sure. One of my memorable ones was over the summer, holding the little one on my hip, walking behind the hubs. And *BAM* all of a sudden I drop to the pavement, thankfully little one and her lollipop make it completely unscathed, me on the other hand, whew!

Awkward moment? Embarrassing moment? I suppose any moment I'm awake counts. Last night my husband bounced down the stairs and it was all I could do not to laugh at him, the way he was carrying on. I bounce down the stairs at least once a week. Holding back the giggles made for a bit of an awkward moment.

Congratulations and Happy SITS day! Um, you sure you want to hear about awkward and embarrassing moments? I think my most awkward thing is that I tend to cuss when I shouldn't. After working over 20 years in the construction industry, most of them in the field offices, I've heard it all and said too much! Its a hard habit to break but I'm trying.
Had to come back and say I signed up to follow...don't want to lose you in all this huge Blogland...
and I LOVE that you and your mom did all that fabulous cooking. Think I'll try it with daughter!!

Happy SITS day! Faboo blog. And I have WAAAY too many awkward/embarrassing moments for one comment box...but how about one from last night? Feeding my newborn daughter at 4am, extremely tired, propped against pillows. At one point I leaned my head back and apparently dozed off. Came to about ten mins later and my poor kiddo was scrunched, feet to my chest, head by my belly, her li'l mouth gaping hungrily. (Only witnessed by my husband, but up until then he was pretty sure I had invented Good Mommyhood.)

Congrats! I am awkward, just like you. Easily embarassed, blush to the tips of my ears...it's just awesome. Name a situation, I've probably been in it, and embarassed myself!
I passed out in Calculus class on the first day of college and had to be taken all the way across campus to the clinic in a police car just so they could ask me a dozen times if I was pregnant even though it was menstrual cramps that made me pass out in the first place!

I try to let my awkward and embarrassing moments leave my memory, so no I don't have any of those. ;)
Congrats on being featured! I try to forget my embarrassing moments but one that stands out was when I was in undergrad and I got hit, directly in my face with a water balloon in front of hundreds of students! I was mortified! I can LOL about it today!

HA! This is greeeeaaat! I feel right at home.
Most embarrassing moment, that STANDS out - because they happen often mostly when I talk and mispronounce words CONSTANTLY, or get lyrics badly wrong - no not those. It would be when on a business trip to Austin. I wasn't paying attention.....I walked right off a curb and promptly FELL face forward in front of the sales rep, narrowly dodging banging my head on the car hood.
Well if that wasn't bad enough, or embarrassing enough, or heck even klutzy enough for you....found out later that night I broke my hand in TWO places. At 37 yrs old I had to wear a cast neon yellow on my right arm.
Niiiiiice! Did I mention I type for a living??
Sanity or patience, I ask myself this question everyday. Happy SITS day!!

My awkward story: Back in elementary school wearing a brand spanking new hip orange pants suit (It was the late 70's after all) had an 'accident' in my pant and had no change of clothes, I was stuck so to speak--and to this day I always remember the orange pants with the flowy top and the panda bear on it!
